ONLINE COURSE AGREEMENT

We only communicate one way, openly and honestly. This online course agreement (the “Agreement”) outlines our mutual expectations and the terms and conditions for participating in our online courses. If there is anything you are uncomfortable with, please let us know - we want to make sure we are on the same page moving forward.
By signing up for our online course program, you agree to be bound by the following conditions.
1. Parties. This Agreement is made between Hana Mäkinen, a Sole Proprietorship operating out of the Province of Alberta (“End & After”, “we”, “our”, and “us”) and you, the undersigned (electronically or by hand) or the person who has clicked “I Agree” to this Agreement (“you” and “your”).
2.The Course. End & After is providing the Honest and Supportive online course (collectively the “Online Course”) you are purchasing under this Agreement: Embracing Deeper Connections: A Self-Study Online Course. Our course content includes:
2.1 Embracing Deeper Connections is a gentle, heart-centred program designed for pet guardians moving through the aging, illness, or end-of-life journey with their beloved animals. This course invites participants to navigate anticipatory grief with honesty, care, and presence, cultivating a deeper understanding of their emotions, nervous system, and bond with their animal.
2.2 Our program explicitly teaches pacing, nervous system consent, returnability, and self-resourcing. You will learn how to stay present without bypassing difficult emotions, hold paradox (love and pain together), and trust your internal signals. This course will not take away sadness or uncertainty, nor provide quick fixes, but it will help you connect with inner resilience and be with and move through emotions, creating space for moments of peace that enhance this time with your animal.
2.3 Through guided exercises, somatic tools, journaling prompts, and reflective meditations, you are supported in strengthening your bond with your pet on a soul level, cultivating inner resilience, and navigating this journey with greater clarity, love, and presence. The course is relational, not clinical, offering a safe container for emotional honesty without requiring intensive processing of trauma.
2.4 At its heart, this course is about love: honouring the bond with your animal, walking this path with grace and compassion, and embracing the tender, transformative nature of this time together. You are encouraged to proceed at your own pace, revisit lessons as needed, and integrate the teachings into everyday life, returning whenever you need guidance, reflection, or support.

Core Invitation: A journey through anticipatory grief- supporting aging, illness, and end-of-life with your animal companion, focused on presence, honesty, and care.
Primary Goal: Building capacity to stay present with yourself and your animal during difficult times, and cultivating new ways of relating to loss that will support you through future transitions and relationships.
Course Pace: Self-paced with no fixed timeline. Move through the modules as slowly as you need - weekly, monthly, or at whatever rhythm honours your process and your animal's journey.
Requirement: No prior somatic experience required - only openness, self-responsibility, and compassionate care for yourself and your animal.
Methodology: A thoughtful blend of education, embodiment, and reflection. Each module offers short lessons (2-20 minutes), somatic practices, journaling prompts with downloadable PDFs, and guided meditations. The sequential structure supports integration - giving your nervous system time to adapt and allowing you to observe shifts in yourself, your animal, and your relationship as the course progresses.
2.6 Designed to be a living resource rather than a linear curriculum, this course is intended to be revisited across the many seasons of this chapter with your animal. As the journey unfolds, returning to these teachings allows you to hear and integrate them in new ways that meet your current needs. You are encouraged to return to the material:
2.6.1 When a diagnosis changes or your animal’s health or abilities shift.
2.62 When decisions begin to feel heavier.
2.63 Whenever grief shifts form or new support is needed.
3. Additional Courses. We also offer a selection of mini-courses to navigate this difficult time of loss. These are outlined on our website.
4. Term and Termination. This Agreement will be binding upon your payment for the Online Course. Once purchased, you will receive access to the Online Course. You will have unlimited access to the course material for as long as you need support. We are committed to maintaining the platform on a long-term basis, with access continuing for six (6) months after the end of the course.
5. Payment. Payment for the online course is due upon purchase. You agree to pay the price of the Online Course, including the possibility of payments in installments or recurring subscriptions, as advertised through our media and website. All prices and payment costs are in CAD for Canadian clients and USD for US and International clients.
6. Refunds. Our refund policy is as follows: All sales are final. Our courses are non-refundable and non-transferable.
7. Payment Failure. In the event that your payment fails, your access to any of the information or content of the Online Course will be revoked until full payment is received.
8. Individual Login Access. Your login credentials are for your individual use only and may not be shared. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under your login. Please notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access. End & After is not responsible for unauthorized use of your account and reserves the right to revoke access without refund if login sharing or other terms violations occur. End & After remains entitled to monitor passwords and user IDs and, at its discretion, require you to change passwords. End & After cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these provisions.
9. Your Conduct. If you participate in community features (forums, groups, etc.), you are responsible for all content you share, including photos, videos, comments, and other materials. End & After reserves the right to remove content that is offensive, inappropriate, or violates community guidelines, and may suspend or terminate access in such cases.
10. Interactions in the Course. You are responsible for your own actions and interactions with any other user in connection with the Online Course. End & After will have no liability or responsibility in this regard; however, we reserve the right but have no obligation to become involved in any way with disputes between you and any other users.
11. No Guarantees. This course is not a quick fix or solution; it does not remove grief, bypass emotions, or promise immediate relief. Instead, it provides tools and support to help you learn how to navigate uncertainty with care, connection, and grounded presence. As this is a self-directed learning experience, the value and insights you gain from the Online Course are ultimately up to you. Consequently, no guarantees can be made regarding the specific results or outcomes of this program.
12. Ownership of Intellectual Property and Use of Materials. All materials provided within this program—including written content, videos, audio recordings, PDFs, software, and photographs—are the exclusive property of End & After. This includes all original files as well as any copies or works derived from them (collectively, the "Course Materials"). We are excited to share these resources with you and grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use them for your personal learning and completion of the course. To protect the integrity of the program and our creative work, we kindly ask that you adhere to the following guidelines:
12.1Course Materials are for your individual use. Please do not photocopy, reproduce, or share these materials (in print or digital format) with friends, colleagues, or third parties.
12.2 The use of screenshots, screen recordings, or downloading content for the purpose of distribution to others is strictly prohibited.
12.3 You may not use these materials to create your own online programs, training offerings, or commercial products, nor provide them to anyone else for that purpose.
We put a great deal of heart and effort into creating these materials, and any violation of these terms—such as unauthorized sharing or commercial use—will result in the immediate revocation of course access without a refund.
13. Loss of Access. End & After reserves the right to revoke access to the course and materials for violations of these terms, including intellectual property theft, sharing login credentials, or inappropriate conduct.
14. Third Parties. All Course Materials are proprietary and may not be shared, copied, or distributed with any third parties without our consent. This includes videos, audio files, PDFs, written content, and any downloadable resources. While you may discuss your personal experience and insights, you may not share the actual course content or materials with others. In the event that you do share any information regarding the Online Course, End & After reserves the right to exercise our full legal rights to remedy the situation.
15. Media & Recording Release. Your privacy, comfort, and trust are important to us. Live sessions and group calls for this course may be recorded to provide replays and resources for enrolled participants. These recordings are intended solely for educational purposes within the course community, and not for public use or future marketing unless you give explicit, written consent. You are never required to appear on video or to share if you do not wish to. If you do participate and have a concern about your image, voice, or contribution being included in a recording, please let us know. Your preferences will always be respected, and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes. We will never publicly use, share, or repurpose your image, voice, or personal contributions from course sessions for marketing or other purposes without first requesting and receiving your explicit, written consent. By participating in this course, you acknowledge the above and understand that any use of your likeness or personal contributions beyond the course itself will only happen if you have given your clear permission.
16. Limitation of Liability. This course is provided for educational and personal support purposes. End & After makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes, as results depend on individual circumstances and engagement. This course does not replace professional mental health services, veterinary care, or medical advice. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a mental health professional or crisis hotline immediately. End & After is not liable for decisions made or actions taken based on course participation.
16.1 In no event will End & After be liable for special, incidental, indirect or consequential damages (including, without limitation, lost profits or revenues) or other liability arising out of or in connection with this Agreement, regardless of the form of action, whether End & After has been advised, or otherwise might have anticipated the possibility of such damages. This course is provided for educational purposes. End & After makes no guarantees regarding specific outcomes. We are not liable for any decisions or actions taken based on course content. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the course.
17. General Indemnity. You hereby fully indemnify End & After and Hana Mäkinen and any of their members, directors, officers, employees, contractors, volunteers, agents, executors, administrators, successors, family members and assigns (the “Indemnified Parties”) and save harmless the Indemnified Parties from any losses, claims, damages, actions, causes of action, costs and expenses that an Indemnified Party may sustain, incur or suffer at any time, which are based upon, arise out of or occur, directly or indirectly, by reason of any act or omission by you in your use of the Online Course, provided that where End & After has contributed to such liability by its own negligent conduct, your indemnity obligation will be limited proportionately.
18. Waiver. Before you participate in our Online Course, you must sign our Waiver and Release of Liability. Please read it and make sure you understand it. You must sign both the Waiver and Release of Liability to confirm that you understand and agree to them.
19. Dispute Resolution. Any dispute arising out of this Agreement will first be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If a resolution cannot be reached, the parties may agree to resolve the dispute through binding arbitration in the Province of Alberta, in accordance with the Alberta Arbitration Act. Both parties fully retain the right to seek individual relief in the Alberta Court of Justice (Small Claims) for disputes within that court’s jurisdiction.
20. Standard Legal Things. Choice of Laws and Venue. This Agreement will be governed exclusively by the laws of the Province of Alberta. The parties agree to irrevocably submit all claims to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Province of Alberta. Severability. If any provisions of this Agreement are invalid or unenforceable, the other provisions in the Agreement will remain in full force and effect. Entire Agreement. This Agreement constitutes the entire Agreement between the parties and replaces any prior agreements. Waiver of Breach. The waiver by End & After of any breach by you of any provision of this Agreement will not be taken to be a waiver of any further breaches by you. Notice. For the purpose of this Agreement, e-mail or text will suffice for written notice when required as set out above. Headings. The headings used in this Agreement are for stylistic purposes only, and none of the content in the headings is intended to be legally binding. Counterparts. This agreement may be signed in any number of counterparts, each of which is an original and all of which, taken together, constitute one single document. Online Agreement. We agree that this Agreement may be signed electronically or agreed to by having you click “I Agree,” the effect of which will be the same as if we signed the Agreement by hand and the intention of which is that both parties desire to be bound by all the terms of the Agreement.
